Tom Signs Connecticut For All Pledge, Commits To Fighting For Working Families
Today, Tom Tyler announced that he signed the Connecticut For All Pledge, committing to advance a bold agenda that lowers costs for working families, strengthens public services, and ensures the wealthiest individuals and corporations pay their fair share.
“Connecticut is one of the wealthiest states in the country, but too many families are still struggling to afford housing, healthcare, childcare, and everyday necessities,” said Tyler. “I signed the Connecticut For All Pledge because I believe our state should work for everyone — not just the wealthy and well-connected. If elected as the State Representative for the 58th District, I will use the power of this office to fight for policies that make life more affordable and create opportunity in every community.”
The Connecticut For All Pledge outlines a shared vision for an economy and democracy that puts working people first. By signing the pledge, Tyler committed to supporting policies that include:
Creating a fairer tax system by increasing taxes on the wealthiest individuals and corporations so Connecticut can invest in schools, healthcare, housing, and other public goods.
Adjusting the state’s fiscal controls to allow for responsible investments in communities and public services.
Expanding affordable housing, strengthening tenant protections, and combating speculative corporate investment in housing.
Supporting union jobs, fair wages, and worker protections that allow families to build stable lives.
Fully funding public schools, childcare, and public higher education while opposing efforts to divert public dollars to private school vouchers and charter schools.
Protecting and expanding access to affordable healthcare, including mental healthcare and care for immigrant families.
Strengthening voting rights, transparency, and civic participation to build a democracy accountable to people — not wealthy special interests.
Tyler emphasized that meaningful change will require grassroots organizing and broad coalition-building across the state.
“Real progress happens when workers, families, advocates, faith leaders, and communities come together around a shared vision,” said Tyler. “I’m proud to stand alongside people across Connecticut who are fighting for a state where everyone has what they need to thrive.”
The Connecticut For All campaign brings together organizations, advocates, and community leaders committed to building a more affordable, equitable, and democratic Connecticut.
